Matsumoto Women's Normal School "local materials" and "Tago Bunko"

兵要録

This collection consists of both “local materials” inherited from the Matsumoto Women's Normal School, (one of the former schools of Shinshu University, ) and “Tago documents” inherited from the Tago family, who were hereditary professors at “Sokyokan”, the Matsumoto domain school.

Shinshu has long been known throughout Japan as an educational prefecture, with Matsumoto High School and the Matsumoto Women's Normal School, the former schools of Shinshu University.
The University Library houses collections of Japanese and Chinese classical books and early modern documents inherited from the former schools, which tell the history of local education in Shinshu.
In particular, the "Tago bunko" is a collection inherited from the Tago family, who were vassals of the Toda domain of Matsumoto. They were hereditary professors at “Sokyokan”, the Matsumoto domain school.
